5th Grade Volunteer Club

            Wednesday, October 31, 2007 was the first meeting of The 5^th Grade Volunteer Club.  All of Anne E. Barry’s grade 5 students with assistance of Mr. Chapdelaine, from the Chicopee Public Schools Maintenance Department, along with Mr. Norris, the onsite custodian at Barry, successfully re-mulched around the Kathy Allen Memorial Tree and Remembrance Stone - located on school grounds. 

Students were upbeat and positive during their volunteering.  Many students’ commented that they loved cleaning-up and making the school look beautiful.  “This is great!  I wish we could stay out here and clean up the outdoors all day,” one student offered.

            We would like to thank First American Insurance for the generous mulch donation, which truly made our first project a success!
